Curators' Favourite

Wooden seat and foot rest,

Used at Melville’s Shoe Shop.  The shop, at 2 Eastgate, opened in 1896 and was run by three generations of the same family until its closure on the 12th Dec 2003. Most of the building was demolished.  The front façade remains and is now a branch of Halifax/Bank of Scotland.
