Highland Museums

Highland Museums are part of The Highland Council’s Education, Culture and Sport Service. In 2006 the Highland Folk Museum, Inverness Museum and Art Gallery and the Highland Photographic Archive amalgamated to form Highland Museums.

Highland Museums' vision:

Highland Museums aim to provide a welcoming museums service that provide inspiration, learning and enjoyment for all.

In order to fulfil our vision we offer a service to the public, which includes:

  • Welcoming staff and friendly atmosphere at the museum sites

     
  • Permanent and temporary exhibitions and displays open to the public for learning and enjoyment

     
  • Online access to the Highland Photographic Archive

     
  • Opportunity to purchase copies of photographs from the Highland Photographic Archive

     
  • An activity programme aimed at inspiring those who take part

     
  • A learning and access service that reflects the needs and interests of the communities that we serve

     
  • An enquiries service related to the collections
